Sydney SAQA Get Together

Here are some pics from the SAQA meeting in Sydney during the Quilt Show.  It was a useful and positive meeting.  Ideas discussed included mentorship between Oceania members, making us of the blog, regional gatherings between members, a possible exhibition, using SAQA brochures and recruiting new members.

This is the group, holding SAQA publications.
L-R: Lisa Walton, Cath Babidge, Sue Dennis, Rasa Mauragis.

Here is Sue in front of her quilt "In the Moonlight" selected for Hands All Around, 2013.

Brisbane GTG - 1 June

The MOB got together again on Saturday - not that we were rowdy or anything, but we definitely had a good time.

The Members of Brisbane [hence MOB] meet around the turn of each season to chat, show and share, and generally connect with other local (or visiting) SAQA members.

Some of the show and tell -

Mel had a great pouch for  tucking her drawing/colouring supplies into her handbag -
These are photos taken during a trip to New York and printed onto fabric.

Rebecca used TAP to create the distressed images on this quilt -

Ali did some watercolouring as we watched -
That shiny material was found in the bin at her work.  She's stitched and fused and coloured it - and will take the blow torch to it next!

I showed some of my glue gun stencils -
